A 4-year-old Brooklyn girl who weighed only a shocking 15 pounds was found dead this morning, with her arms and legs tied to a crib with twine, The Post has learned.

Cops are now questioning the mother of the severely malnourished little girl, Marchella Pierce, at the 81st Precinct station house in Bedford-Stuyvesant, law enforcement sources said.

The mom, 30-year-old Carlola Pierce, has told police she checked on her daughter at the family's Bedford-Stuyvesant residence at 4 a.m. and she was OK. She checked on her again at 6 a.m. and found her unconscious. She waited until 7:30 a.m. to call authorities, sources said.

When police arrived at the home at 823 Madison St., they saw that the living area was filthy, sources said.

The mother of two dead toddlers confessed to suffocating the children before strapping them into her car and driving her vehicle into a river, South Carolina authorities say.

Orangeburg County Sheriff Larry Williams told reporters Tuesday that 29-year-old Shaquan Duley has been charged with two counts of murder after her sons' bodies were pulled from the Edisto River on Monday.

Williams said Duley told police she was distraught after a dispute with her own mother and killed her children by putting her hand over their mouths.

TAMPA - More than a dozen men from across central Florida walked into a trap set by the Polk County Sheriff's Office.

The men are now charged with attempting to have sex with girls aged 14 and younger, some as young as 8 years old.

Investigators say a Davenport home was the rendezvous point arranged online to catch the 15 men. Ads were placed in the "casual encounters" section of Craigslist, detectives say, to lure the men in.

The ads said a parent or other family member was offering the chance to have a sexual encounter with girls, and led to an exchange of e-mails between detectives and the suspects to set up the sting.

A North Carolina man is being charged with murder after allegedly tossing a piece of concrete through the passenger-side window of a moving car Saturday, striking a teenage girl in the head and killing her, MyFox8.com reported.

Seventeen-year-old Shelby Chisom, a rising senior at North Davidson High School in Lexington, N.C., was pronounced dead Saturday, less than three weeks before the school year was scheduled to begin on Aug. 25.

Chisom was leaving a party with several friends at about 6 a.m. Saturday morning when Craver allegedly threw a concrete paving stone through the car's open window, the Charlotte Observer Reported. Chisom's friends took her to a hospital, where her condition worsened. She was transferred to a second hospital where she died at noon on Saturday.

BARTOW - According to police, Mauricio Lopez broke into a home, killed a man, and drank the victim's blood while four children watched.

On Sunday, August 1, Bartow Police say Lopez smashed through a window, and locked the doors of a home on Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Blvd. He confronted his niece's boyfriend, Macario Cruz, stabbing him in the heart and liver around 9:30 p.m.

Sergeant David Wyant said Lopez was angry over Cruz's relationship with his niece, Mirella Mendez.

Saiqa Akhter called 911 in Irving, Texas, Monday night and said she had done "something terrible" to her children. When police officers arrived at her home, they performed CPR on the boy, Zain, and his sister Faryaal.

"The older child - the boy - he was pronounced [dead] last night at the hospital," while his sister was still listed in critical condition as of this morning, said Officer David Tull, a police spokesman.

Akhter will be arraigned on a capital murder charge Tuesday and is sitting in the Irving Police Department's jail.

The Dallas Morning News says Akhter was the only adult at the apartment but that her husband was later seen leaving the police headquarters.

TULSA, OK -- A Tulsa man has bonded out of jail after he was arrested early Wednesday morning on a complaint of assault with a dangerous weapon.

Tulsa Police say 28-year-old Jesse Thornhill tried to run down his landlord in his '96 Ford Windstar van Tuesday evening in the 1200 block of South Delaware Place.

Thornhill's mother told police she and her neighbor, who is Jesse Thornhill's landlord, "had been having problems with her son."

She told police there was an altercation Tuesday evening and that Jesse left the residence, but then came back and tried to hit his landlord with his van.

The landlord jumped out of the way and was not injured.

Tulsa Police located Thornhill and took him to the Tulsa County jail on a complaint of assault with a deadly weapon, in this case his van.

On Tuesday, The John Cochran VA Medical Center began sending out letters to the veterans who were treated at the facility during a 13-month period ending in March. The letter said the dental equipment
"may not have been cleaned properly."

Although the agency said the risk of "infection was extremely low," the medical center is still offering free blood tests to screen for HIV as well as hepatitis B and C.

"We deeply regret that this situation occurred and we assure you that we are taking all the necessary steps to make certain that testing is offered quickly and results communicated timely," the letter said.

According to VA spokeswoman, Laurie Tranter, the problem was discovered during an inspection that took place in mid March.

Salinas police spokesman, Officer Lalo Villegas, said Thursday that Patrick Fousek, 38, and Samantha Tomasini, 20, were arrested early Wednesday, hours after Fousek allegedly approached two women outside Walmart and asked if they'd like to purchase his child.

The women initially thought Fousek was joking, but when he became persistent, they became suspicious and reported it to police, Villegas said.

"They did an outstanding job and gave our officers good information. I don't know if they're mothers but they definitely had that instinct to help," Villegas said.

BOULDER, Colo. (AP) - Police say a woman accused of killing her infant son did it because she believed the boy was autistic and thought his condition would "ruin" her life.

Stephanie Rochester, 34, was charged Monday with murder in the June 1 suffocation death of her 6-month-old son, Rylan. According to an affidavit seeking her arrest, Rochester wanted to commit suicide but didn't want to "burden her husband" with the potentially autistic boy.

The affidavit says that the night before the infant died, Stephanie and Lloyd Rochester "talked about how they wanted to have fun in life."

"Stephanie said that she knew they would not have fun while they were caring for a severely autistic child," according to the affidavit, written by Boulder County sheriff's Detective Mark Spurgeon.

William Atwood Sr., 45, was charged Wednesday with multiple felonies in connection with the case.

Authorities say Atwood lured Justin Moore to his home, ordered him to strip down to his boxer shorts, and tied him up and tased him with a stun gun before turning him over to a sheriff's deputy.

Moore told authorities he sent a photo of his genitals to several friends, including Atwood's daughter, as a joke.

Atwood apparently didn't think the joke was funny when his daughter told him about the picture in January.

According to court records, Atwood called the Sheriff's Department saying that Moore sent pornography to a child.

Before detectives could investigate the claim, Atwood told deputies that Moore came to his home uninvited.

The shooting Sunday night began in a parking lot outside the Yoyito Restaurant in Hialeah, where the man was seen arguing with a woman, Hialeah police Detective Eddie Rodriguez said.

"It was some sort of domestic dispute," he said.

The man shot the woman, then walked into the restaurant north of Miami and started randomly firing at the people inside, Rodriguez said. Afterward, he got into a vehicle and drove away.

Police identified the shooter as 38-year-old Gerardo Regalado of Coral Gables.

One employee called her brother after the shooting, saying she had been shot and was bleeding.

A 17-year-old high school student from Haddon Township admitted in family court Thursday that he defecated in a classmate's soda during an auto-shop class.

Prosecutors dropped an aggravated assault charge in exchange for the boy's guilty plea to a charge of tampering with a food product.

Authorities say the victim sipped the soda, then spit it out as his classmates laughed on March 29.

A judge ordered the boy to serve probation, serve 200 hours of community service, write a letter to the victim to apologize , and to write a 1,000-word report on why it's unhealthy to ingest fecal matter.

Guy Edward Jones, 60, of Derrick's Creek Road near Sissonville, allegedly came home after a night of drinking late Sunday and got mad because his wife, Beverly Jones, didn't have dinner on the table, said Lt. Sean Crosier of the Kanawha County Sheriff's Department.


Crosier said the couple got into a fight and Mrs. Jones ran to a neighbor's house. Crosier said she turned around to see flames coming out of the basement and her husband coming out of the basement door.


Guy Jones was arrested and charged with first-degree arson. He was in the South Central Regional Jail this morning in lieu of $50,000 bond.

A nine-year-old boy was forced naked into an oven by his father at the family's townhouse in New York after rummaging in his dad's wallet, SILive.com reported on Friday.

The incident happened in the Graniteville neighborhood of Staten Island at about 9 p.m. ET Wednesday, according to a spokesman for District Attorney Daniel Donovan.

The boy was put in an unlit oven by 6-foot-3 James Moss, 52, before being forced to hold his hands over an open flame on the burner for two minutes, stated court papers.

The child, who was treated for second and third degree burns at Staten Island University Hospital in South Beach, was hit with a spatula, smacked on the face and dragged across the floor by Moss, according to police.

Moss was charged with second-degree assault and endangering the welfare of a child and was remanded to Rikers Island, New York City's main jail complex, after he failed to post a $15,000 bail or bond.

Gordon Kent Nelson, 44, from Cumming in north Georgia, turned himself in on Tuesday morning, Forsyth County Sheriff Ted Paxton said.

Nelson is charged with biting the girls on two separate incidents; one in March and the second in August 2009.

In 2009, the victim was an overnight guest of Nelson's daughter in his home. In the most recent incident, the victim was the daughter of a female friend of Nelson. The alleged attack happened in the friend's home when Nelson was alone with the girl, police said.

The sheriff said neither of the girls required extensive medical treatment. One was bitten above the hip and the other on her left calf.

Nelson is being held without bond pending a first appearance court hearing.

Layla Trawick started randomly stabbing people with a blade about the size of a kitchen knife at about 12:45 p.m., Los Angeles sheriff's Sgt. Josh Mankini said. The 35-year-old was arrested with the help of private security guards.
